Ok, port 37 is one of the standard time port used for NTP calls across the internet.

This port needs to be open for the TiVo to make it's daily calls.

I'm glad you have it working, but both last night & now I have tested the call myself using the same server that is failing for you, and it worked fine.

    Code:
    [TiVo [p0] ~]# /bin/ntpdate -b -v 132.163.4.103
Our postcode is 06000. Found matching timezone Australia/Perth
Offset 28800 for timezone WST, daylight saving is 0
    Connecting to time server 132.163.4.103
Setting the local time to Wed Oct 22 22:10:24 2008
This will probably not matter for daily calls as it rotates the servers, but you still have some issues with either your router or ISP. It should not be failing this call.

Could it be a DNS server issue? I sometimes have problems at home resolving them. OpenDNS setting have certainly improved our iphone's performance, but I have never sought to use them on the desktops or even in the modem.

Well Ill go home today and see if it survived the daily call.

    Thanks again

    Cheers

It shouldn't be a dns issue as you are calling the IP directly. More like a routing issue.
