From the infomation on the exetel forum you could try the following:

cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc
cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc

The 1st line should give a result of 0
The 2nd line give no result
The 3rd line should give a result of 1

Now type reboot to reboot the tivo and see if it works.

Unfortunately it was no good. Well, I should say that the lines you gave me gave the exact results you predicted, however it still didn't allow me to complete the first setup call... Bugger!

Got a reply from Exetel support, here it is:
Hello, thank you for your email.
Exetel do not use a proxy for connections at all.
Nor are ports blocked. I would suggest that you check your
individual computer and / or firewall to resolve the issue.
If you believe this is trace problem please perform a trace
route to the IP address(es) and reply back to me.

The command
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc
will not have worked as changes to /proc will be lost on reboot.

So you will need to add the following line to the end of your /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit.author

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc


Then reboot and try again.

copy /var/log/tclient to your PC, zip it and post it here.
