daylight saving - still wont adjust

Hi

Running image 1.3 on an old philips series 1.

Its been doing daily calls every day sucessfully but the time is still one hour out since DLS came into effect.

I have forced two daily calls and both suceeded, but no update of the time.

Any ideas?

OK, while I am here, how do I get the 30 second skip enabled on the S1 tivo? Possible?

Ill try the settime command and see if it survives a daily call.

Oh and I have a series 1 tivo not a HD tivo. Managed to find the select play 30 select shortcut to get the 30 second skip working, prior to that the key would cause it to go to the end/start and major marker points only.

how am i doing here, i dont think its working...

it seems to have hung at the connecting to time server point. firewall? any ideas?

Ok, timezone files are not your issue, as you were already up to date.

I think you are guessing right about a port being blocked.

Port 37 on your firewall/router needs to be open for the time calls to be made.

Is this a one off thing or will the port need to stay open.

Does it seem like I have the correct time zone settings?

I'll try mucking around with the router. Would you recommend using a fixed IP address for the Tivo so that the routing works after reboot of the router/tivo?

Ok, timezone files are not your issue, as you were already up to date.

I opened ports 36-38 and directed them to 192.168.0.3 and reran the process

Still not working. Do ADSL modems have firewalls in them as well as routers? Might I need to do something with my modem?

I think I got it. I used a different IP address in the ntpdate line...yay, well to ckeck that it actually worked and will survive a daily call. heres hopin!
