Regional guide data missing

Configuring a Tivo HD for friends, but no guide data showing although it connects and downloads without a problem using the 6000 postcode. Broadcast frequencies are definitely different though.

As per phoenixdigital's request in the Whirlpool forum here's the postcode details

REGIONAL GUIDE DATA MISSING

Your postcode: 6220
The nearest major cities postcode that has matching guide data: 6225 - Collie

No local station guide data showing. National channels ABC, SBS and their offshoot stations all have guide data. Local channels 7, 9, 10, 7two, Go etc. all show "to be announced".

3 x TiVo HD boxes, all modded 4 weeks ago (thanks to Russ). Multiple guide setups with CBD postcode 4000 still come up with the same.

We need TivoIDs for channels in your area.
If you are on a TiVo (with OzTiVo mods) which is in the area with no/missing guide data, please ssh (or telnet) into that tivo and type "station_debug.tcl" and then post the output. (Or at least a few details like

For WA, it looks like we can get data for Mandura and Regional WA (wherever that is!), and some of Albany, Bunbury, Broome, Kalgoorlie and Port Hedland. If you can't get station_debug.tcl output, then tell us which one or two of those are closest and we can do some trial and error.

Thanks David. I am in Brisbane until later in the week & will report back when I return. I have never used telnet so I had a practise with my TiVo in Brizzy. When I telnet in I get to " S3-tivo/hack $" prompt. I type in the "station_debug.tcl" command & get the return - "bash: station_debug.tcl: command not found".

What am I doing wrong?

In the mean time, I think I have decided to go with "trial & error", and set up stations for Regional WA and Sunshine Coast. So people in those areas can try connecting to TiVo service tomorrow morning, and see if things have improved. You never know your luck outside the big city. :-)
Please report back on whether you see anything other than ABC and SBS in your guide data (it might take a few hours to index after you get guide data, and there's no point connecting to tivo service until after about 4am on 1st Jan).

If you are in regional WA, or in Queensland around Sunshine Coast/Maryborough/Gympie and you have connected to TiVo service after 2am AEST / midnight AWST Jan 1, then I'm looking for some feedback:
* Where are you / where is your tivo?
* Do you get electronic program guide (EPG) information for channels apart from SBS and ABC?
* Do you get EPG for all the main commercial networks (local equivalents of 7, 9, 10)? If not, which? (Don't expect to get EPG for shopping channels or audio-only channels.)
* Does it look like the EPG is for your area or somewhere else?
* If you are not getting commercial networks EPG yet, have you waited a few hours since connecting to TiVo service (after Jan 1)?

My friends in regional WA (transmitters at Collie 6225) report they have program guide information. No details yet, I'll get that as soon as I can. Also, I hope to visit there in the next week so I'll get you the station_debug.tcl output.

Does it look like the EPG is for your area or somewhere else? Looks like capital city only, GWN isn't showing.

Hi Dave. Just returned to Maroochydore Sunshine Coast 4558 postcode.
* EPG now populated including all commercial stations.
* Selecting " Frasier" from the EPG on ELEVEN show "Everybody Loves Raymond". Other channels like WIN HD have the wrong show from the EPG (EPG show KFC Big Bash instead of WIN News - Info Screen show WIN News though). Same with GO etc. Most stations have wrong EPG name compared to actual show & Info screen.
E.G. old TiVo EPG would show "Local News" at 6:00pm & "Seven News" at 6:30pm. New EPG just shows "Seven News".

It looks like the WIN/One/Eleven you get have the EPG data for Mildura at oztivo, so I would expect them to be offset by one hour because of the time zone difference, and possibly a few differences because of the different state.
I should be able to fix that overnight.
