After a bit more inspection, I think it's a proxy issue of some kind - whether the problem is on my tivo or with TPG I have no idea though.

Now I think the ^M's shouldn't be there and timeout is never good, but I have no idea how to fix these. Someone in another thread said something about using a public proxy server.
