Great to hear that you persisted and got your TiVo back up and running, despite the amount of effort required. I see your original post #13 has now been moderator approved.
I've never been to Adelaide, but expect to one day. TiVo might be a distant memory by then!
Do keep us posted with regard to the 'hardware' error.

I have no idea what moderator approved means but who cares, the hardware problem has gone, as you said it would. It hung around for two days or so and I couldn't record in that time. In the end I realised it wasn't going to get bored and move on of it's own accord so I go aggressive. OK, I just went into the menus and selected delete everything. The whole set up started again and bingo, at the end of it all there was no error message. Job done. I went and bought a really good bottle of top Shiraz for you. I'll keep it for six months and if you don't show I'll have to drink it.
