    Watching and Recording...and...

    Ok I have a question...
If I had Pay T.V I can't record one pay T.v Channel and watch another pay T.v channel right...?

And while i'm here, I still can't understand how many times a week I have to plug in the computer. and how long it will take for all the infomation to come through each time... My educated guess is twice a week.

    THANKS
    Adam

You can only record one channel at a time.

You can however record one channel while watching something you have previously recorded.

Plugging computer in? I take it you mean how often you need to let your tivo call home? I'm not sure how often slices are updated for australia.

Are you able to access tivoweb from your computer? *ie: do you have a network card fitted in your tivo?*

    Hi Adam,

It usually takes about 5-10 minutes to do the "daily call" to get guide data slices from minnie (the OzTiVo server). This does depend on your connection speed of course. Don't worry about that name "daily call" though - twice a week should be fine.

    Cheers, Dave.

Agreed, twice a week should be enough to stop you running out of data.

But with the current Guide system new slices are generally made each day which quite often takes into account last minute progamming changes. You would not benefit from these changes if you only download twice a week.
