Hi,
This menu doesn't work while the TiVo is in PAL mode. You need to use the Phone page on TiVoWeb to force the daily call.
Edit: Oops. Just read your other post. Need to sort that out first obviously.
Cheers, Dave.
Tivo stopped making its daily call so I went to force one through the Recorder & Phone Setup menu. When I select that menu it does nothing but stay on the Messages and Setup page. This has effectively disabled the whole machine. I tried goging through the setup up process and but it keeps taking me back to the main menu. It has happened once before so I pulled out the hard drive and reapplied the image but that is a **** load of work and I was wondering if there is an easier fix.

thanks on both counts you where right both times....
I have the same problem. Don't know what I have done wrong and cant find your other threads on the forum. Could you give us a clue?
Thanks!!
Hi ibart,
This was the other thread:
http://forums.oztivo.net/showthread.php?t=444
But if the problem is inability to access the "Recorder & Phone Setup" menu then it isn't a problem per se. It's a known issue with the OzTiVo image. The workaround is to use TiVoWeb.
Cheers, Dave.

Hi,
I also cannot access the above menu but want to use the internal TiVo modem until I set up a proper network.
Any ideas how I can get it to do this please?
It was imaged by Darren via his turbonet card, which I gathered the Tivo may still think is installed. Is there a setting to change or will rerunning guided setup do anything. I have changed the ISP etc as instructed but I am stuck as I can't make a phone call!
Thanks, Peter
Hi Peter:
1. Purchase or solder up a Serial Cable:
http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/vie...ingSerialCable
2. Connect the serial cable between TiVo and PC and use a Terminal program to get to the "command" prompt on the TiVo:
http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/vie...ertermWithTiVo
3. Take note of the existing boot parameters:
4. Change the boot parameters:Code:[TiVo [p0] ~]# bootpage -p /dev/hda root=/dev/hda4 TV_STD=PAL GS=1
(ie. remove TV_STD=PAL and GS=1 from the parameters - note it could be GS=0)Code:[TiVo [p0] ~]# bootpage -P 'root=/dev/hda4' /dev/hda Updated boot page on /dev/hda
Note that this time a capital "P" is used in the command.
5. Reboot and the Recorder & Phone Setup menu should now work.
6. Once you've finished reconfiguring your dialup settings you should restore the bootpage settings to what they were.
HTH.
Cheers, Dave.
