    Duplicate channels

    Hi List (Peter),

I've found that some of the channels listed in the 'HiGuide' are duplicated. 7Two, Go and 7 Mate. I wonder if this is the reason why two programs didn't record as expected.

    Thanks,

    John

Check on the TiVo itself in channels you recieve that the correct channels are selected.

    Peter,

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be checking. The list of channels in 'Channels' shows a number of apparent duplications.

What is happening is the Tivo isn't recording the TV show that its been asked to record. This seems to happen when the show is anywhere other than ABC or SBS although that's a feeling rather than anything scientific.

It certainly has trouble with 7 two and 7 mate.

The Tivo is changing channels now quite happily, so its not that. I can only presume its got something to do with the Tivo not being mapped to the channel list that the STB is using.

Thanks for any insight you can offer.

    John

I checked the channels that the STB was receiving and their numbers. Then I checked the Tivo's channelmap list. I found that some of the duplicate channels on the Tivo were mapped incorrectly so I changed them. They were:

    Applying change for Ten-NSW 10 (Was 5) object 2274/41
    Applying change for One-NSW 12 (Was 1) object 2274/37
    Applying change for Digital4 40 (Was 4) object 2274/56
    Applying change for 7TWO-NSW 72 (Was 62) object 2274/65
    Applying change for 7mate 73 (Was 63) object 2274/66
    Applying change for 7TWO-NSW 72 (Was 62) object 2274/65
    Applying change for 7mate 73 (Was 63) object 2274/66
    Applying change for GEM-NSW 90 (Was 80) object 2274/69
Applying change for GO 99 (Was 80) object 2274/70
Applying change for GO 99 (Was 80) object 2274/70
    Applying change for GEM-NSW 90 (Was 80) object 2274/69
Applying change for GO 99 (Was 80) object 2274/70
    All channel changes applied

I hope that'll solve my problems; we'll see.

My next query is; how do I delete channels on the Tivo that the STB isn't receiving i.e. PrimeN, PrimeS, NBN etc.?

    TIA for any advice.

    John

Ok since we now know you are in NSW this is the channel list that should be on your TiVo

provider: 02001 New South Wales FTA
    version: 49
    lineuptype: Digital
    channel: 0 NoNag
    channel: 1 One-NSW DoNotShift
    channel: 2 ABC-NSW
    channel: 22 ABC2 DoNotShift
    channel: 3 SBS-NSW
    channel: 5 Ten-NSW
    channel: 5 SC10-NSW
    channel: 6 PrimeN
    channel: 6 PrimeS
    channel: 7 Seven-Syd
    channel: 8 NBN
    channel: 8 WIN-NSW
    channel: 8 WIN-Grif
    channel: 9 Nine-Syd
    channel: 10 Ten-NSW
    channel: 11 ELEVEN DoNotShift
    channel: 12 One-NSW DoNotShift
    channel: 23 ABC3 DoNotShift
    channel: 24 ABC-News24
    channel: 32 SBSTWO-NSW DoNotShift
    channel: 4 Digital4
    channel: 40 Digital4
    channel: 41 D4NEWS
    channel: 44 TVS
    channel: 45 ServiceNSW
    channel: 47 MACQD
    channel: 49 EXPO
    channel: 50 One-Newc
    channel: 55 ELEVEN DoNotShift
    channel: 62 7TWO-NSW
    channel: 63 7mate
    channel: 72 7TWO-NSW
    channel: 73 7mate
    channel: 80 GEM-NSW
    channel: 80 GO
    channel: 88 GO
    channel: 90 GEM-NSW
    channel: 99 GO
    channel: 401 HOUSE
    channel: 402 SENATE
    channel: 403 CMTE
    channel: 404 CMTER1
    channel: 405 CMTER2
    channel: 406 CMTER3
    channel: 407 CMTER4

This covers most of the channel allocations for all areas of NSW, obviously you will not be able to receive all of these channel in your area. You just need to de-select the channels you do not receive (and any duplicates) from the channels received list on the TiVo.

    Peter.
