If it is a faulty chip, it's usually the Sony CXD1922Q (23 on Photo) or the SAA7114H (2 on Photo).
Maybe Darren will pop in and add more info
Peter.
I have a SVR 2000 with, what appears to me, a video encoding problem. The attached file shows the problem from a capture from the same source on two TiVos.
The faulty Tivo has displays perfect menus and will playback a recording made from another TiVos HD when connected to the faulty board. Therefore I am assuming an encoder fault.
Can anyone assist as to the likely faulty component(s).
Yep. Peter is spot on. That is chip 23 on the picture Peter provided. It is replaceable (I've done quite a few now) depending on your expertise with fine scale surface mount components.

Thanks for your responses. I had reasoned that it would be one of those two.
Unfortunately it seems to be the harder one to replace.
Can you supply one please Darren?
Yep I have a couple of the Sony chips. Please contact me off list to sort something out.
