    Wireless Cards

I was wondering if there was a "recomended" 802.11b wireless card (Intercil Prism2/2.5 chipset) for us with the AirNET cards?

And if so where is the best place to purchase them?

    Thanks Heaps

    TiVo wireless

I have a turbonet card and a wireless bridge (Linksys WET11)

This was on the recommendation of George.

The setup works well and is so far pretty robust.

I have two IP addresses - one for the bridge, and one for the tivo, so I can log onto tivoweb and also the configuration manager for the bridge.

The turbonet card and bridge setup has the advantage of being to use the bridge for any other ethernet device if necessary as well as being able to position the bridge and associated antenna where ever you need to to optimise reception.

Not many that are still available, as manufacturers move to 802.11g.

9th tee recommend/sell the Zoom Air 4105 and the Netgear MA401 card has been reported as ok.

You could ask on the airnet forum: http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9 Jaffa has promised a compatability list for years.

Here is a list of adapters and thier chipsets, it might help when looking at cards with unknown chipsets.

This does not help if kinros is already stuck with an Airnet adapter.

But if Kinros ever wants to stream direct from the TiVo, Airnet won't keep up and a wireless bridge or hard wired is the only way to go.
