Stream Tivo to Windows PC - yawn ;-)

Hi - I'm sure this has been asked a million times before but even after reading all the posts I'm no closer to streaming shows on the Tivo to my PC. I've got vserver running and TivoTool on the Mac works great.

What's the deal with a straight stream to a PC? Is there anything as slick as TivoTool?

    Thanks

    Richard

I used to use TiVo Mplayer many years ago, but no longer stream.

    eTivo

I used to have installed a utility called "etivo" - which allows you to select from the content on the TiVo, streams it down to your PC and converts it to wmf format.

It works pretty well. Some loss in quality, but on the other hand the filesize is greatly reduced from the Mpeg2 format TiVo uses. EtiVo still has to stream down the full MPEG2 file to do the conversion though - so it's still as slow as molasses getting the files off the TiVo. But at least you can queue them up and ETivo does the ripping in the background.

    Worth a try anyway ..

    Cheers
