I'm assuming that you have a working network connection between the tivo and your router, that the link light on your router is lit indicating such.
I'm also assuming that between your first attempt years ago and now you have at least downloaded/installed/configured the latest image and still having no luck?
I will stress that even though someone *could* take it away and set it up for you this is no guarantee that it will work on return for reasons external to the tivo itself, like a "transparent proxy" issue with your ISP or a router/network mis-configuration.
