Your TiVo IP address, Port 21, no username, no password and "Anonymous" checkbox ticked. That's it.

In that case it's down to four things:
1. Software network setup issue (ie settings in nic_config_tivo)
2. Faulty TiVo network card
3. Faulty network cabling (most common problem by far)
4. Faulty port in the router

Finally managed to connect to it - I just had to pull the power on my tivo as it seemed to have crashed? I did also swap ports on the router though? None the less, attached is the zipped file in question. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks again,

your problem is this:
Aug 17 16:08:55 (none) comm[156]: Uploading HTTP Header for modLog of /var/log/svclog: POST /tivo-service/mlog.cgi HTTP/1.0^M Content-Length: 8424^M ^M
Aug 17 16:11:52 (none) comm[156]: XferRqst timeout waiting to read
So, something is definately blocking the calls. What we don't know is if it's your router or the ISP.
Try this link from your PC, it's not reliable but may help.
If it shows no proxy then try this from your PC.
also on your tivo try:
wget http://131.244.9.101/tivo-service/mlog.cgi
cat mlog.cgi
You should get 'Done.' as the response to the 2nd line.
Then try:
wget http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test
cat proxy-test
Scoll down the list till you see <p class="testresult"> then look at the next line and see if it says there is a proxy.
Now just to clean up a little:
rm proxy-test
rm mlog.cgi
To delete those files.

Ok - first link from PC said "This request appears NOT to have come via a proxy.
The request appears to have originated from host 111.203.233.220.exetel.com.au which has ip address 220.233.203.111"
For the second test, my page serial number was updating.
Reponse to requested lines from tivo:
[TiVo [p0] ~]# wget http://131.244.9.101/tivo-service/mlog.cgi
--09:41:31-- http://131.244.9.101/tivo-service/mlog.cgi
=> `mlog.cgi'
Connecting to 131.244.9.101:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: unspecified [text/plain]
[ <=> ] 6 0.00B/s
09:41:32 (0.00 GB/s) - `mlog.cgi' saved [6]
[TiVo [p0] ~]#
[TiVo [p0] ~]# cat mlog.cgi
Done.
[TiVo [p0] ~]# wget http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test
--09:42:29-- http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test
=> `proxy-test'
Resolving www.lagado.com... failed: Host not found.
Only had to remove the cgi file as the other did not download. Does this suggest anything? Should I try another router or modem?

Unfortunately it doesn't really prove anything, except the dns resolution didn't work for the last test which can happen occasionally. I suggest you try the last test a few more times.
Remind me, are you running the UK image or Philips.
Peter.
I'm running a phillips tivo with current oztivo image.

OK, your signature says "Thompson S1 with turbonet and 300gb seagate FTA STB" so I thought it might be a Thomson.
Also I might suggest re-imaging and make sure you select update the installer before imaging the drive.
Peter.
Sorry - your right! I will update my signature... Sorry for the confusion.
Sam
##EDIT##
When I select "Update from the installer cd - will I need to have access to the internet? How does it update? I only ask as my main pc uses SATA drives, so I have to do the imaging on my spare pc (with ide drives) which is not connected to the internet. Will this still allow me to do the update? I'm sorta guessing not due to the lack of operating system, but then Im not sure as to how it updates? Thanks,
Sam
