    Sky's upcoming channel number change

    Hi all,

Have just received a flyer from Sky advising that their channel numbers are changing (pretty comprehensively) on March 1.

Will both emulators manage this in the background, or will some hacking be required? I'm thinking in particular of Season Passes.

    Cheers guys,

    Tony

The change should be ok. In terms of emulators we are recommending people move to the current emulator on port 8000 as soon as possible, or at least before the change.

The current system derives its channels from a database, so a quick change and all is done. Whereas the legacy headends are manually modified, which will require manual (error prone) changes and test cycles.

A message has been sent out to those TiVo's still remaining on the legacy emulator suggesting a move.
