Phoning Home? "failed. service unavailable"

hey guys,

I'm getting the error that the phone home has failed due to service unavailable error.

Before you call me a n00b and tell me to RTFFAQ.... I am able to access the tivo via telnet and tivoweb. from within telnet i can ping and wget any site I try.

I can also ping the tivo from 2 different computers on my network with success.

I'm with bigpond and using a router thats keeping the heartbeat alive. I've also set the router to allow all ingoing and outgoing connections (disabled the firewall)
any ideas on what the issue may be?

Which version and date of image are you using?

Is this a new install or and old install that has just started playing up ?

Can you post your tclient log.

i had the same problem with my setup, and found out it was a proxy server on my firewall that caused the problem. I disabled it and after that it worked fine.

Do make sure you dont have any proxy / firewall rules causing any issues,

What model is your router??

Jackal that's good advice, but Philip already said he has disabled his firewall.

There are a few issues with the latest image, which I why I need to know when it was installed. Then we can suggest appropriate actions.
