Check if you have a software firewall

I assume you get this message under Windows XP.

Typically this is as a result of XP not being able to contact the actual port on the box (or get a response). I find that this is usually a software...

    Ruoter will probably not work

Most of the ADSL routers out there do not provide a dial backup port.

This is really what you are looking for - a multi port router with a modem interface to dial your ISP

    You would have to...

How to help with Guide Data

    Nope Surround will not happen

The TIVO supports stereo only - if your surround processor has a Dolgy Prologic II or one of the Matrix decoders it can mimic Surround but that is the best you will get

difference between S1 and S2 TIVOs

    Pretty simple.

The S1 works in Australia the S2 does not (yet)

Basically the Series 2 Units are a lot smarter (read faster processor and more memory) than the Series 1 - however the guys have...

    It is not AI

    Gary,

It will take a while to learn what you like - also the guide data at the moment is not always given correct Genre's so this affects it

This image includes the Australian Station setup

You are going to need a lot more knowledge to do this by yourself in another country.

I would suggest you do a lot of reading of the Oztivo mailing archives.

Read the Guided Setup questions and...

There are a couple of ways.

You do not need a network adapter

Lots of the guys have tried with ICS under XP and none appear to have succeded. Most of them end up opting for the Wingate approach (there are other options)
