You should get on the Oztivo mailing list. There has been plenty of discussion on there lately.
You might be able to find a Satellite receiver that is compatible with SkyTV. At the moment I am aware of people who have one which they use in preference to the Sky supplied receiver. Apparently...
I think you might just need to be more patient. I just downloaded it successfully, but it did stop and start several times.
Strange that WinMFS does appear to be unavailable online. I've put a copy on GDrive here
Does my link above for an image not work?
Basically you plug the new HDD into a spare SATA port on your PC, and use WinMFS v9.3g (in Windows) to 'restore' an image to your new HDD. Then put it in the TiVo, and do a 'clear and delete all'....
I've just got the same thing on one of our TiVoHDs after it was switched off briefly. I revived it by heating the RAM chips with a hair dryer. Only a temporary fix until next time it gets switched...
Hi Brad, it's been a while since I visited the forums. I'm wondering if you got the issue sorted?
I fixed a TiVo that had a spontaneous reboot problem by replacing the capacitors on the power...
We do have a section specific to S3 TiVoHD, but you will probably get more response on Geekzone. I have never tried using Quickflix sorry.
Great to hear you have it all working! It should update itself soon, the image is a few versions old.
Just noticed WinMFS has a 'Fix divorce S3' tool, in case you ever need it in future Peter.
The ID of the Logitech remote might not be 0. Normally you would reset the ID of the TiVo remote to 0 or what ever the TiVo is set to, but not sure how you would do that with the Logitech.
It's certainly best to replace the original drive with a new one, rather than add an expander, to avoid that situation.
Our 2nd TiVo has just got the Grey Screen of Death (perhaps due to being...
Who me? did you read the whole thread?
I am currently using HDMI so that we get 1080i, but it means I have to swap inputs whenever I plug in the PC. Our second TiVoHD is being loaned out, so it...
I believe it will. You can "Expand" with WinMFS to ~1.2TB and then use "Supersize" option to 2TB.
Don't forget to turn off the Intellipark feature on the new drive.
Did you get anywhere? Doesn't WinMFS have some boot repair or restore function
Are you using WinMFS version 9.3g (for Australia/NZ)?
Also did you run it as Administrator?
Hi Rogan,
Thanks for the additional followup, useful when someone else has the same problem.
I'd really enjoy a Shiraz right now, now that a finally have a quite moment! Alas, I'm not going to be...
If you get stuck, and are in Christchurch, I can give you a hand with your Series 1 TiVo.
Thanks for testing that Peter.
Possibly, but TiVoHD isn't Freeview approved so there is no requirement for them to do so.
Peter specifically says here that he uses 1080i over component.
On a similar note, is there a trick to getting 1080i over component?
The TiVoHD will output only 576i over component, but will output all/any resolutions including 1080i over HDMI. I've tried...
Do you realise you can replace the timezone file ("Auckland") with an updated one so that it automatically changes correctly?
Thanks Wibble!
Since people were wondering - there's still about 65 units alive out there.
You mean post code 02110? That should be the correct one (I'm using 02113 for Sky) Sounds like your Strong receiver isn't ordering the channels in the usual order. Is there a menu option to swap...
Hi Rogan,
Great to hear that you persisted and got your TiVo back up and running, despite the amount of effort required. I see your original post #13 has now been moderator approved.
I've never...
