Tivo Desktop not connecting to Tivo - Help!

hey all

i'm having a lot of difficulty trying to get Tivo Desktop Plus to connect to my Tivo. i suspect it has something to do with my network settings. i've tried googling but to no avail.

my setup:
TiVo (3rd gen)
TiVo Wireless Adaptor
TiVo Desktop Plus
WinXP
Billion 7800N
Norton Internet Security 2010

my TiVo can connect to my wireless network however can't see any of my PC photos or music. i can't connect to my TiVo account in TDP - keeps failing.

what am i missing? any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you entered you MAK into TDP?

The first thing I would do is get rid of/disable Norton Internet Security

Skolink - can NIS not be configured for TiVo?

check the FAQ for a list of the programs to allow and here for which ports to open.

You can probably answer 'yes' when NIS prompts you to allow it, but from my experience all Norton products are just a pain in the butt and prevent most network related things from working.
