I didn't expect the first file to exist, but a little supprised the 2nd one doesn't exist.
I have attached it here. Unzip then ftp the file to /hack/etc and reboot.

You replied as I was typing. I didn't notice your typo.
That file looks fine.
Peter
Bugger, so that looks ok as well? What next do you think? Just to let you know, I have been making sure that it still isn't connecting, testing it a couple of times a day...

Next step would be to talk to someone at Exetel and ask them what is the address of the web proxy used on your service, or alternatively ask them to exclude 131.244.9.101 from the proxy service as it is blocking your TiVo.
It may take some demanding to be pushed up the customer service tree to get to someone who understands what you are asking.
Also can you confirm, you still have not completed setup.
Peter.
Yes - still have not completed setup as I cant get past the phone home step. Ok, I can call exetel and say what you have said - see what they say. Unless someone who knows more about this than me would like to do it? :D
Sam
The proxy address may relate directly to your service (or at least different between different states and different adsl, adsl2 pops). As I said there are no issues with Exetel here. The account holder needs to call with their username and password so they can trace where your line runs.
Peter.
ok I can call them tomorrow. What exactly should I ask, just if they can stop blocking the above IP address? Thanks,
Sam
you need to ask what I said in the first paragraph of post #34. The best option is to exclude that IP address from any of their proxies, failing that ask what is the address and port number of the web proxy used on your service.
Peter.
Yep no worries - I have put a "service call" in to them and see what they reply with. Thanks,
Sam
check out this thread on the exetel forum - could it be the problem? I don't understand what they are talking about - but someone there had a problem with their tivo and then did something to fix it. Anyone understand what they are saying?
