embarrasing admission time! After reimaging and going through GS, I went into config_tivo and changed the MAC address and set a static IP. Just checked, and I'd left the subnet mask and gateway addresses as dchp! I've now set them to the correst values and immediately got a successful daily call! Doh! Hopefully it'll now complete the indexing using the new data and all will be ok!
