Hi all,

I've just acquired a S2 Hughes SD-DV40 tivo and I wondering what the recommended methods to get it working in the UK (AU/NZ would be the same steps I guess?)

I've worked out the following
1. I need to use Palmod and change the output freq. to PAL
2. As we dont have DirectTV in the UK, can the tivo accept input from a Sky box???

I cant see a video in so Im not sure...

Hi Angelo

We do not use DirectTV TiVo's here in Australia, only Stand Alone type that accept analogue A/V inputs.

We have experimented with PAL on Series 2, but again this is only Stand Alone which are a different chipset than the one you have.

I'm also pretty sure that the box will be locked for DirecTV too, and probably has the software and firmware in the box that will make it pretty much impossible to play with.

In short, you are out of luck asking here I'm afraid. Although some have played with S2 Stand Alone (and still can't get proper PAL working) nobody has touched a DirecTV type.
