Bugger!

Just tried to use my S-Video input only to find (by breaking the new cable) that there is a broken pin, or other matter, stuck in one of the holes. Has anyone else managed to successfully remove something like this. It's not visible to the naked eye.

Cheers for any thoughts

I haven't had this with an svideo socket, but I have with a ps2 socket

Now, im not sure if the other end of the svideo socket in the tivo
is 'open ended' or sealed. If it isn't sealed you may be able to push the pin out from the tivo insides end using a small pin (ironic) of course making sure
it's turned off before you attempt it.

Now, I'm not saying this will work but possibly it will (as it did for my ps2 socket).

Unfortunately the Tivo's S-Video is a sealed unit, so no joy on pushing the pin through from the inside. Unless I'm willing to hack apart the cover of the unit. It looks pretty easy to remove (maybe...)
