Fetch Tv Boxes

Hi I know this is a Tivo forum but I need to ask. I do still have my modified Tivos working great but was wondering if Fetch TV boxes can be reactivated when providers close your account, I have several Retail Fetch boxes and have an ex provider one. Is there anyway I can reformat the HD in it to make it a retail Box? Any advice would be appreciated.

At the moment no. The serial number is NOT on the hard disk. In fact unlike a TiVo there is almost NOTHING on a Fetch hard disk apart from a signature file to let the box know it is prepped for use on a Fetch box. Everything else is stored on the motherboard and at present very locked down.

For now given they are not very big in physical size I suggest hanging onto them. Another side hobby I have (but VERY limited time) is to provide support for Fetch boxes.
