Guided setup without mod

My TiVo HD has started glitching on sound and video, and I see from reading Darren?s web site that the solution is a clear and elite.

But the TiVo says I will need to redo guided set up after that.

Will guided setup work now that the official mothership has closed down. Or do I need to do the chip and software mods to get it to work?

We have basically just been using the TiVo to record Sunrise every morning that my wife watches using the manual timer, and for everything else we do it through catch up tv or Netflix on our Apple TV.

You cannot do this without modification.

Furthermore I would say your glitching won't be cured by a redo guided setup. I would almost bet your hard disk is failing and will also need attention when you get the TiVo modded.

But on the plus side you'll also restore program guide data and automatic clock synchronisation.
