During live TV, the video appears slightly jerky - just slightly - a bit annoying.
I have a Philips series 1, with a nice new 160GB drive and cachecard.
Taking the video signal direct to the TV (ie bypass the Tivo) provides perfect video... Any idea's on this wee problem anyone ?

yep - i think that means you are still in maintenance mode.

See: http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/Howtoinstall/GuidedSetup30

Look for the bit that says:
The TiVo will display the time wrong and give you a jittery picture until you have rebooted.

In some cases it might take a second reboot to get everything right. If that doesn't work, force the TiVo to do a Daily Call and then reboot it (try this four or five times before giving up). If that doesn't work, see Redoing Guided Setup below for how to get the TiVo out of "Maintenance Mode".

The "Post Setup Configuration" part of the document also tells you to fix up the time and to how to force a daily call.

Yep. You're in Maintenance Mode. As said, try some reboots. You can also just wait until the initial 4-8 hours of indexing has completed and then reboot. Or if none of that grabs your fancy read right down near the end of the Guided Setup how to in regards to manually changing the bootpage to have GS=0
