Question about TiVo's recording capabilities

Hey, I just found a few old VHS tapes and I want back them up on to DVD.

Now is it possible for me to plug in my VCR, to my TV, and play the tapes, on say the AV2 channel, and record this with my TiVo. Then after this is finished transfer them to my PC and burn them on to DVDs.

I would just connect up my VCR, to my TV, but Ive already got TiVo, a DVD player and a couple of game consoles so I dont really want to have to make the VCR a permanent fixture.

Are you using a STB in conjunction with TiVo, or just the internal tuner? You can plug the VCR into the AV inputs on the TiVo and set up a manual recording. Then transfer it to your PC and edit.

Gainty, from your previous posts it looks like you have a TiVo HD, if that is the only TiVo you have, then you will not be able to record from your VCR to it.

Yeh it is Tivo HD. Ok so that means I cant record whats playing on my VCR. Ahh well...looks like Ill have to find another way to do it:(
