Is it possible to buy a S3 remote from a retail shop?

It's just the online price from TiVo is $74.95 all up and I was wondering if there is a cheaper option.

Cheers

George who runs Eklecticsystems is a trusted and long time supporter of OzTiVo. Years ago he also supplied Refurbished TiVo's to many of our members.

This Remote (and any other TiVo branded remote) will work with our S3's.

Just be aware that there are few differences. Compared to our S3 remote this remote is missing the info & window buttons, the Guide and LiveTV buttons are combined into just one button (which is really just Guide) and it does not have the switch which is used if you want to control 2 TiVo's with the one remote.

Also the Remote codes loaded into the remote (for TV and Amp control) are different so models that are on our S3 may not be on the Thompson version.

That said these differences really do not effect most people, and these make good replacements.

Failing that there are many learning remotes that can be used with TiVo.

Peter.

I actually bought my Tivo from George about 6 years ago, and a couple of extra remotes a couple of years later.

I tried using the S1 remote, but I kept looking for the missing buttons.

Anyway, I just closed my eyes and ordered one from TiVo. I did however notice that the postage had dropped from $25 to $10 which is still too much for such a small package.

Cheers
