I was told recently that Harvey Norman and others would have access to sell TiVo sometime early this year. The HN salesman reckoned prices would drop with non-exclusivity.

Anyone else heard anything?

Also about three of the HD units have sold recently on Trademe at about 1/2 to 2/3rds the new price, whereas the traders there that want near enough to Telecom's price and in some cases more don't seem to be successful in selling them.

Amazingly the good value ones were all won in competitions.

All the best for 2010!

It took over 6 months before prices moved much here in Australia.

Most likely not untill December, beacuase that is when you will officially be able to take your TiVoHD between NZ and Oz.
Of course if you don't want to wait that long you could get a 160Gb unit for AU$498 as we have (if there are any left) and use it here.

Very few retailers have stock of the 160's anymore. No new deliveries will be sent to stores, the remaining stock will be sold off through the mytivo.com.au website (currently A$599 with wireless).
