Hi guys,
Peter suggested I post my latest tclient log here for help as I can't work out what is wrong.
Could you please take a look and see if you can tell what it is.
(I have the full log but forum is only 10k in characters)
Thanks heaps, Peter D

Ok, the problem is at this line:
Nov 8 14:32:05 (none) comm[146]: XferRqst timeout waiting to read

1. Has anything changed on your home network
2. What ISP are you using.
3. What version of the OzTiVo software are you using?

Peter.

Yes - I have always been on Optus ADSL+2 and changed modems about 2 months ago to the Sagem Fast 1201 v2 modem which would not connect Tivo but then settled I thought. I am on 1.6.2.-20081005

Alright, I will first assume that your modem is not causing the problem if it has worked since changing it (but is likely to be the cause if it has not worked since).

My first suggestion would be to change your configuration file to point to our server on port 9090 to bypass any potential proxy servers Optus may have installed.

You need to edit /etc/oztivo.conf and change the emulator and emulatorport lines so that they show:

emulator=www.oztivo.net
emulatorport=9090

After making the filesystem read only again reboot the TiVo and try forcing a call.

Thanks Peter, I will give it a go by the weekend and post the results. It still could be the newish modem as it is freezing every hour on the internet - and Optus said it was Explorer but Google Chrome does the same! Peter

ok, then I probably wouldn't play with the TiVo until you get the modem sorted.

Peter.
