Sorry, I know Ive got two posts outstanding - I just got the TiVo series 1 working and have managed to solve most of the issues, but this one has me a little puzzled.

My TVoWeb works for a few hours, and then times out on the browser. Ive only had the box running for 2 days, and this has happened four times in that period. Whenever this happens it appears to be permanent and requires a reboot to fix. When Tivoweb isnt responding I can always ping the Tivo, telnet and FTP no problem.

Ive seen the posts re keeping tivoweb running long term, but they're all talking about days not hours.

Of course, I assume its something Im doing or have done ! The issue is what do I do to track it down ?

I have followed the instructions re restarting tivoweb (automatically). I tried running quitstart_tivoweb.sh which reports :

[TiVo [p3] /var/hack/tivoweb-tcl]# ./quitstart_tivoweb.sh
http daemon is not running, will try to start it.

Im not too sure what this means, and what I should do from here to find out why this is happening ?

If anyone can enlighten me I would appreciate it :D

Take a look at /var/log/tivoweb.log to see why it is falling over.

Also please update your profile so we know where you are located, as help instructions may vary depending on your country.

Peter.

That log doesnt reveal a lot to me, but Im no expert ! Here's the full log from the last reboot.

Im suspecting perhaps the log clears itself out on reboot ?

Anyway, here's the log :

[
[TiVo [p0] /var/log]# cat tivoweb.log

Yes it does, /var/log/Otivoweb.log will contain the previous tivoweb.log file, and may contain some useful information within it.
