I was a Tivo user in America and transplanted recently in Oz.
I am currently a Foxtel subscriber. I was excited at Tivo's arrival in Oz, but don't want to dish $700+ only to get 10 fta channels. Is there any way to get all other premium channels - NGC, Discovery, Travel, etc. - into Tivo? If so, how?

There is absolutely no way of getting anything other than FTA via a TiVoHD. Foxtel will not allow competition in Australia against their IQ product.
If you want Foxtel via a TiVo then you use an old Series 1 TiVo and connect up your Foxtel receiver to it like has been possible in Australia for many years. However this will only be in SD as the types of TiVo that can be modified for this purpose are SD only.

Thanks for the valuable info, Darren. I can live with just SD for now. So where do I purchase a Series 1 Tivo? And what else do I need to set it up for Foxtel?
