Using the TiVo as a VCR

Hi,

Is it possible to use a TiVo just like a VCR ?

Can you pre-program in channels, times, etc for recording ?

If doing it this way, will it still control the channels on, say your Foxtel STB ?

In other words, if you don't have access to the EPG can you still utilise the TiVo ?

Yes, as long as the channels are setup on your TiVo you can
treat it like a vcr by setting a manual recording by time and channel.
So, even if your TiVo has no guide data, yes it will still record using this method.

There are various manual recording scripts for TiVoWeb as well which make it easy to do this (and have an actual program name rather than 'Manual Recording: Channel bla bla').
