Channel Abrev's??

Hi,

Not wanting to appear to stupid, oops too late (Will Smith Enemy of the state) ;)

but am trying to figure out why the channel names are abbreviated the way they are, I assume its tivo related?? or guide output related perhaps?? or copyrighted???

Absolutley not being critical, just wondering out loud why FS1 is not FoxSports1, and 7cen is not 7Central etc etc

some times when things don't appear obvious i ask politely hoping not to appear silly or offend anybody.

Being geeks we like to save space both for display on TiVo and the database.

There are some that are longer like eurosports2, but there is no rule, just how it gets entered when the channel first starts.
