Hey guys,
Got a 250 gb hard drive to add on to my 120 gb in the TiVo now.
Just wondering if anyone has a link to the steps?
Also, do I need to format this drive with the TiVo startup disk?
Cheers!
James

I'd hesitate before adding a second HDD. you will lose all existing recordings etc on the existing drive, and also, when you have 2 drives installed, failure of one drive means you lose all recordings on both drives.....
Might be better to simply install the 250gig drive in place of the existing one....

Thanks Tony. I think I'll do that, and just have 2 "discs" so to speak. Takes a little more effort than a CD to change, but oh well :)

If you did want to add a second drive, it's fairly easy (and contrary to post#2 you won't lose any shows). follow these (http://www.newreleasesvideo.com/hinsdale-how-to/index9.html)instructions.
But I do agree with staying away from 2 drive installs if possible as failure in either drive results in total failure. This is even worse with drives of mixed ages.
Peter.
