/var/hack folder?

Hi Guys,

just trying to follow the very detailed video extraction 'how to' on the main page, but Im stuck as I don't seem to have a "/var/hack" folder. I have a hack folder and a var folder, but not in that structure. I need to know where to copy the tserver file to. Running a series on phillips, latest image and latest Tytool software. I suspect that the folder is actually there, just hidden for some reason. As I seem to be able to get to the folder in Putty, but not there FTP wanderer. Unless it is just going to a file named 'hack' as I have that file in my "var" folder. As you can probably tell, my unix is relatively poor...

I don't seem to have a "/var/hack" folder.

You will probably find that /var/hack is a symbolic link to /hack on your system (this is similar to a shortcut under Windows). The FTP server might not navigate symbolic links so just place the files under /hack as on your system both /var/hack and /hack point to the same place. Hope this helps (and is not too confusing - as symbolic links under Unix are actually very handy!).
