Over in the DealDatabase forums for Series 1 TivOs there's a sticky post re:exterme upgrade. In that post the xPlusz link talks about what's included.
"T30SS will automatically set 30 seconds skip feature on each reboot."
Has/can this hack be made to work on the OzTiVo image?

Yes, but it greatly reduces the average uptime.
It causes the Tivo to freeze more often.

Do you mean the 30 second hack itself makes the TiVo less reliable, that is, no matter how it is enabled (for example using the remote code select-play-select-30-select)? Or is it the automatic at boot enabling of the 30 skip that's causes unreliability?

Yes to both, having it enabled reduces uptime. And some people have said it is even shorter if done during boot.
Peter.
