Hey all,

About a week ago I ran the scripts to upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6.2 All went flawlessly untill I noticed I have no guide data.

I checked my system information and my Daily Calls have been successful.
I forced another daily call which also succeeded but still I have no guide data.

I figure it's my Tivo at fault as nobody else has mentioned missing guide data.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Jeremy.

ozTivo 1.6 images have not been tested against the NZ system so who knows whats up ...

We recommend staying with the NZ specific images, they are setup with the correct emulators, timezones and so on. Once the 1.6 series stablises we'll look at replicating it into NZ.

Anyway, since you are there now, what emulator are you on and postcode?

Bugger, sound slike I may need to reinstall NZ 1.5

I'm on postcode 02116 using the 128::210.48.107.133:8000

Cheers, Jeremy.

Let me know what you find Darryl, we have tried to make this release friendly to multiple countries. Among the changes, choice of emulator, New Zealand postcodes and timezone are included.

BigMal, did you happen to be on the old legacy port 80 before the upgrade? If so, you will need to perform a complete "Clear and delete" as the slice format has changed.

Just a thought.

By way of an update, at this point we can see the unit was GS'ed against 8000, after which it never touched the emulator. tclient logs are looking sparce, we are looking at the dialing prefixes currently.

It appears the dialing prefix in the tclient.conf, set to 127 prior to the update, changed to 128 after the update.

Could be user error but I definitely don't remember changing it (I wouldn't even know what it does).

Thanks for the help tho, much appreciations to the Tivo community.

How do you do your daily calls? network adapter, dialup etc

It should still be set to:
127::127.0.0.1:8000:::

and now runs through emuproxyZA

Daily calls are through a network adapter (cachecard).

FWIW, I've recently set up 2 US Series 1 Tivos using the 1.6.2 Oztivo image (postcode 02113; Sky Digital Akl; GS'd to 8000 emulator) - one gets guide data via turbonet card, the other via dialup. Both have been working solidly since (great work guys!).

Jeremy (bigmal): so you shouldn't need to go back to 1.5. Lemme know if you need more info...

Cheers,
Marty.

This was a tclient.conf setting issue.

I don't believe it was image related.

Yup, it was a dodgy setting in my tclient.conf
Not sure how it occurred but best to put it down to user error :o

Ok, that's good to hear.

I checked the upgrade script for any mention of '128' in case something slipped in, but the only mentions were in setting WEP on Airnets.
