I removed my PC's hard drive, did a low-level format using maxtor utility(powermax.exe). Successfully, installed oztivo image on it. Now when i connect it to tivo, it freezes at the startup screen
"Please wait for a moment, your recorder is starting up"
Any inputs greatly appreciated.

The screen it hangs on is loaded from the prom on the mainboard and for some reason the TiVo cannot access the drive.
It does sound like a classic case of either a missing jumper or a jumper set to Slave or Cable Select.
It must be set to Master with a jumper.
Other than that, the usual suspects of both IDE connectors amd PSU connector.
Is the drive spinning up ?
Peter.

i remember removing all the jumpers from the hard drive. I'll set the jumper to master and trying booting up again. Will let you know.
Thanks for your input.
