Exported recording format?

Hey all, I just received my Tivo from Just Deals.

Can anyone tell me what format the Tivo receords in?

Basically when I take files off the tivo, what format are they on when they get to my PC?

TiVo uses it's own proprietary format which is a close relation to MPEG2

When you transfer to a PC you use a program called TyTools that will transcode it into a format usable for making DVD or playing on your PC.
