I'm using this script:
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~willu/xmltv/tv_grab_au_reg

as per these instructions:
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~willu/xmltv/tv_grab_au_reg.html

to grab tv guide data for my MythTV box. Trouble is, all the data is 10 hours ahead. For example, "Ten Early News" is listed as running from 8pm to 9pm on Sunday August 13, when it should be on 6am-7am Monday August 14.

The data appears as it should here:
http://minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/oneday.pl?daynum=13374

I'm running MythTV 0.19, but I've also tried running:
mythfilldatabase --graboptions --force-explicit-timezone

I've also tried deleting all program data, and running it again.

Any suggestions?

Ah hah!

Turns out, there is an option in mythtv-setup, under "General", labelled "XMLTV offset". I changed this from "none" to "auto", cleared all the data, rebooted and ran mythfilldatabase again, and it worked splendidly!

This is where I found the answer (under tips and tricks...):
http://zaf.geek.nz/projects/mythtv/mythtv-howto-full.php

The other tv_grab_au scripts I had used previously didn't have this problem, but go figure.

Also, if you are having trouble with the tv_grab_au_reg script, make sure you remove all the comments from the file, and leave only the settings, it won't work unless you do this!

Probably has something to do with UTC time. East coast is +10 hrs UTC. So look out come daylightsavings time.
