hey peoples!
whats up?

well i got a terbonet card (thanks to petestrash =P ) so i am now attempting to download shows from my tivo.

so yesterday i pretty much got it all working and started downloading a show on my laptop. realising i didnt have enough space on my laptop i switched over to by desktop which uses windows vista (think it might have something to do with it!!!!)
anywayz...when i started using tytool on that it came up with some error thing so i was like "SHIIIIIIII"
i decided i would move back to my laptop...delete some stuff so i would have enough room but SHOCK HORROR it now wouldnt work. tytool connects then i click the show i want and it just stops. (view attachment)

i have tried re installing the tserver but had no luck and i have tried rebooting...anyone got any other ideas why it wont work?

thanks guys!!!
Peter

(i would try to use mfs_ftp but i seriously DONT understand how to use it...anyone know a very detailed step by step guide?)

You may be able to fix the download timeouts by adjusting your TiVo network
card to failsafe timing (Not for cachecards).

Type nic_config_tivo in a telnet session, and select option 1, then f for
failsafe, then 0 to save and exit.

You may need to reboot for the setting to change (I'm not sure).

The OP has a Terbonet he purchased from you last week, so your idea on setting it for "Failsafe" may help.

Yes, you do need to reboot for any network setting changes to take effect.

Yeh, I should have removed the bit about cachecards :o .

The Truth: I was tired and didn't notice. I just cut and paste the response from email I sent the same day to the oztivo mailing list to someone else who was having problems using a Mac.

The Excuse: I left the cachecard note their on purpose for people looking though these posts who may have the same problem, but can't get the fix to work with a cachecard.

also whats this green line i see? any way i can get rid of it?By default the TiVo records with a horizontal resolution of 544 pixels, if you are planning on transferring recordings to DVD it's suggested to set this to 720 pixels which is the default horizontal resolution for DVD's. Doing this will also fix the green line problem you are having. Unfortunately this will have no effect on existing recordings so to test it's working you'll need to record a new show and extract that to your PC.

You can set the horizontal resolution in 'palmod_config (http://tivoza.nanfo.com/wiki/index.php/Palmod_config)', this can be run from the telnet prompt or while running the OzTivo installer with your TiVo drive mounted in the PC. To change the settings from the telnet prompt, simply type:
palmod_config
Note: On some TV's setting the recoding resolution to 720 pixels can introduce a slight flicker to the picture.
