If you are using the OzTiVo image there is no need to change anything. Minnie is the emulator for ALL of Australia which is default set on the install image, and it picks your lineup based on the answers you give to the questions during Guided Setup as per the online setup guide on the OzTiVo website. If you are getting connection failures then I would be looking at network hardware faults, network blockages (firewall, perhaps?) or something your ISP has done that is refusing connection.

Sorry, but I'm not a software person. What I said in my above post stands in that if you are getting a failed connection when trying it is something network related. The rest I can't help with.

Also you cannot ping Minnie. It is set up not to respond to pings. You should be able to ping your TiVo however with no reference to any ports, just your internal network IP address it is using.

thanks darren im no software person ither

but it is strange i can connect using

/hack/bin/emuProxy2 -s 210.48.107.133 -p 8000 & edited in rc.sysinit.author

but the orig will fail

is there a way to test if i have isp prob or if the emulator is connecting

cause all seems ok internally i can telnet and get tivoweb and ftp no probs
i have to do this to edit the configs

i am really lost ???

Did you choose "Antenna" as your source?

Peter.

emuProxy2 has something to do with transparent proxy and your ISP and this proves a clue. Petestrash is the better person to help and he usually jumps on later in the evening. I'll pre-empt that he will probably ask you to post your tclient.log which should give some more insight.

Edit: nevermind... the cavalry has arrived (thanks Peter!)

What you have posted is correct for tclient.conf (if using emuProxy2).

As Darren has already suggested, force a dailycall (using DSL) and then post the first 20-30 lines from tclient.log or otclient.log so we can see what is happening, and where it is failing.

also make sure your rc.sysinit.author still has:
emuProxy2 -s 131.244.9.101 &

In the emuproxy section.

Peter.

Also you can access them through TiVoweb.

Was this the output from forcing a call now?

The log you posted did not even attempt to connect to the internet, and the time shows 11:30 this morning (though this may be because of a time warp).

If this is the latest log after forcing a daily call, then post the next 30 lines. If not try the call again and repost.

Peter.

were did you get the time from all i can fathom is a next scheduel time ?

It's staring at you in every line: First is the date, then the time that action was written to the log.

O.k, the 2 log files you posted both start at the same time.

As Darren has said the date and time are the first 2 entries on each line of the log.

The bit I need is from the time you forced a daily call.

It's probably best to try and force a daily call again now and make a note of the time.

When it fails, go through the log again and scroll down to the time you forced the call. Then post the next 30 or so lines here for us to look at.

Peter.

Actually I'm going to need a lot more than that.

It's probably best if you attach the whole log to a post and I'll look through it.

You don't need to force a call again, the existing log should be fine.

Peter.

Ok,

There seems to be some type of transparent proxy issue.

Apr 10 19:25:06 (none) comm[146]: Uploading HTTP Header for modLog of /var/log/svclog: POST /tivo-service/mlog.cgi HTTP/1.0^M Content-Length: 358^M ^M
Apr 10 19:25:07 (none) comm[146]: read HTTP Header: HTTP/1.0 200 OK^M Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2006 09:54:59 GMT^M Server: Apache/2.0.54^M Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1^M X-Cache: MISS from cachefarm.adl1.accessdigital.com.au^M Connection: close

The read HTTP Header should have HTTP/1.1, not 1.0.

This should have been worked around by emuproxy2. can you double check after mucking around that the emuproxy2 line is not commented out with a '#' in rc.sysinit.author.

Peter.

if your asking in relation to

emuProxy2 -s 131.244.9.101 &

na its not remed out

all i did do was change the ip and a dir it was looking for but i put the original file back so is the same as first re image

i dont think my provider is australia based so i think dont hold me to it but

from exchange to off shore provider then back to australia to link to emu could there be a prob with that ?

all torrent and p2p and every what ever work fine
i did change providers to the new one mounths ago i beleive i was getting phones with new provider before daylight saving stuff up - (for me anyway)

but i could be wrong - but i always had guide data

confirm emuProxy2 is running by typing ps ax and scan the list for emuProxy2

If it's not running check the file permissions for emuProxy2 in /hack/bin

-rwxrwxr-x 1 0 0 25300 Feb 21 2005 emuProxy2

Also check the entry for 127 in tclient.conf shows "127::127.0.0.1:8000:::"

If emuProxy2 is running and tclient.conf is ok, then I'm just about out of ideas.

The only thing left is to ask your ISP to fix proxy support for HTTP 0.9 or not to cache requests to 131.244.9.101

Peter

thanks all fixed !

Glad to hear it's fixed, but don't delete all your messages and remove the wording of the first post.

We keep these threads for others to use, to help themselves out of similar problems. Without your posts, our replies make no sense and we just have to repeat the same for each person, which is a waste of my time.

I have undeleted your posts, but could not return the original post after you edited it.

If you have success (or give up) the correct proceedure is to post a final time, telling us it's fixed (or not) and what the cause or action was to fix it.

Even if it's something simple or embarassing it's still worth posting here for others to learn from.

Peter.
