It is possibly some form of software corruption. Usual way of testing is load up another hard disk (anything from 160GB up to 2TB will do) with a clean install of the TiVo software and test with that to see if the problem persists.
My Tivo has just rebooted 3 times in the last 30 minutes, had it had a new a/v drive installed when it was modded last year,
