Brilliant Pawl! Could you explain to those of us that don't 'speak in tongues' or should I say - "Please explain" with guided instructions for dummies?

    1. Log in to your TiVo in whatever way works (on Unix, telnet <ipaddr> or ssh root@<ip>; I don't what you do from Windows)
    2. Type 'rw' to make the root filesystem writable
    3. vi /etc/rc.d/StageD_PreMfs/rc.Sequence_255.Hacks.sh
    4. Use arrow keys to put the cursor on the "-" of "$TM -l" (line 9 of the file)
    5. Type 'i' to enter insert mode
    6. Type '-m -M ' followed by your MAK and a space
    7. Hit ESC, then type ':wq' to save the edited file and quit the editor (if you screwed anything up at this point you can type ':q!' to quit without saving and go back to step 3)
    8. Optionally type 'ro' to make the filesystem read-only again
    9. Finally, restart your TiVo and wait

Is this image small enough to be obtained via Google Drive or Dropbox?
Might be useful to play with.
