You are better off doing this with the mfstools (mfsbackup and mfsrestore) found on the OzTivo boot CD, or on other MFS boot CD's. This will allow you to backup (and compress) your existing drive, which you can then restore on to a larger drive. Depending on your options you can also backup and restore the contents of the MFS database (ie your recordings) although this will make for a much larger backup image.
The backup process is something like (assumes that the TiVo harddrive is attached as hdc, and that you wish to back it up to a file on the first partition of hda):
1. Boot from the CD and exit to a shell
2. mkdir /mnt/dos
3. mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/dos
4. mfsbackup -l 32 -6so /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdc
