Resolved at the Hybrid Media end
Anyone else had the problem that the Tivo guide data has Failed. Failed while configuring since 6th July 6:10am...
Not supposed to happen until 31st October but wanted to make sure it was not just...
Yeah sorry about that Peter - it wasn't that obvious that it was the HD guide data provided by Hybrid that was having an issue. Looks like they may have now fixed it.
Chris
Looks like it got through to DanHybrid as they appear to have updated the MyTivo support site to suggest doing manual recording. The "data was garbage" in my post above was "everything is Home...
Erk - isn't a false alarm, the data was garbage. According to Telecom they are "waiting for guide data and they have no ETA" I suggested they escalate to Hybrid media as it runs out at midnight...
False alarm - was a corruption issue I think, doing a force connect a couple of times fixed it.
Anyone else got "to be advised" for Prime guide data?
I am having the same letting go problem - thanks guys for all your support over the years, getting my UK tivo working when I moved here to getting some new US S1 up and running after the ex wife kept...
Sorry for the cross post but figure any NZ Tivo people interested in a Sony SVR 2000 with modifications for sale in Auckland are more likely to be keeping an eye on this forum - go have a look
...
Ah I am a dork - I read it as MAC not MAK - both equally dumb as passwords but the latter makes more sense :-)
It works fine now..... thanks
I also tried this without any luck although it did think a little harder whne I use Tivo with first caps out of frustration :-) However I am using an NZ HD tivo so it is possible the login might be...
I havent had that happen but I have noticed that rewind seems to be jerky
I noticed my HD filling up faster than my Series 1 - when I got the Tivo Desktop installed I found out why - even though I selected record in SD and output at 720lines (old TV) it may still record in...
Pity you didn't bring your UK Tivo with you :D
They work like a charm with a little work
Thats brilliant thanks, it points out the bit that confused me.
On mine the ground audio wire and the ground wire to the PSU were both soldered together on the middle pin of 3 on the circuit board...
US99c - the only ones I could find from Dynamix were above $30 - wow
Let us know if they work and what the postage was in $NZ as I bet there might be a few people interested.
sweet! sorted.
Partner arrived home from Cello rehearsal and provided the requisite number of hands to hold the SIF wire to the board while I played with the ground.... a couple of short circuits...
Picture to add to confusion :-)
Left wire of 3 (blue/white) goes to power (+5v)
middle wire (black shrouded part of grey wire) goes down towards sound chip - other wires in it carry sound but...
oooh yes please
I am almost convinced that this spare wire has come off the middle connection of 3 - the only problem I have is there is already a wire soldered to that connector going down...
Wow - great
Looks like the long wire is to the SIF point but I am struggling to find where the wire from the black power cable goes on the circuit board
Wonder if it redundant?
3 power wires...
...oh hang on - more to answer
The long wire is in the circuit board in the location marked SIF (top left of photo)
It does look like the SIF pickup point near Q14 is the right place - I can see some very faint evidence of...
Would be interesting to know where you sourced it - could find no reference to a Sunplus adapter with GoogleFu

Wire on right is the long one that may be sound input
