Hi Guys,

Have had my tivo back since before Christmas after Darren did a wonderful job in modding my tivo , A true asset to the oz tivo community.

I have a guide issue with most channels as I'm in a regional area (3850 / 3851) the guide is That of the city of Melbourne indeed (3000)
As An Example i'm missing Family feud on eleven here (Melbourne has it on channel 10 not eleven and our channel 10 is WinHD showing the repeat the following morning).. so the guide is incorrect some of the time on various programming on near all channels (local News and different time slots ect).
7Flix Has No Tv Guide at all.

Is there another postcode that can be used other than metro to have the guide close to what it should be?

One other thing I have noticed is only 1 suggestion has recorded since set up the unit and guide has been updated daily since the 22nd Dec is when i loaded guide and since has not recorded any except one program , I'm assuming this is due to the chip process or the guide info that this no longer works.

And lastly I have also noticed when I choose record new episodes it still most of the time records old and new , it cannot tell between the 2 options and just records everything.

Hopefully these will be ironed out down the track or any reply to fix these issues would be fantastic.

Firstly, the postcode that you use for Guided Setup will not make any difference at all to the guide info you receive from oztivo. (It is possible that it might in future, but not in the short term, and if we did change that in future did we would probably change to state based guide info rather than the current Australia wide guide info. Yes I know you can't see guide info for other regions on your tivo, that's because your tivo only shows you guide info for channels you actually receive.)

Secondly, Gippsland (and many other places) should have more accurate guide info (including for Win) now than it did a week ago, so please check again. If you can tell us things like "the guide says on 31 Dec at 6pm Win is showing Family Feud, but what actually appeared at 6pm on Win was WIN News." that would help.

I am surprised you have no guide info for 7flix, we do have a channel S3-Gippsland-7flix on the oztivo mothership which has guide data. Perhaps we have the wrong TivoID recorded for that channel. To check if that's the problem (and give us a path to rectify if it is), could you telnet or ssh to your tivo and type "/hack/bin/station_debug.tcl | grep -A 1 -i flix" when you see a prompt like "S3-tivo/hack $ ". It should produce 2 lines of output, like this:

. If you tell us the final number (in my example, 340417753) that is the TivoID used for 7flix on your tivo (and presumably all the other tivos in Gippsland), which is what I need to know.

I don't think we have set up anything about suggestions at oztivo. I don't think that is likely to happen in the foreseeable future.

Currently the guide data we can easily get does not distinguish between first-run and repeat, so everything looks like a repeat (unless someone manually flags a showing as first run). It would be good if we could improve this, but at the moment trying to get episode information into the guide is a higher priority.

On my fetch it has a guide for 7Flix.
As for Family Feud (Repeats At The Moment) For example it's on Tuesday night at 6.00pm 02/01 /18 on Eleven (Showing on the fetch Guide) but on the tivo it does not show it at all , and in it's place is Fraiser at 5.30 & 6.00 Pm followed by everybody loves raymond at 6.30pm and 7.00pm , on the fetch it has Fraiser at 5.30 , family feud at 6.00pm and then the same as per tivo.
On The Melbourne tv Guide its the same as the tivo, gippsland guide as per the fetch , even though you explained its not the melbourne guide it's showing that it is by my guide on eleven thus far because they don't air family feud on eleven , That's what i see anyway.

They maybe other shows i did see that had the same issuse as family feud but will let you know when i come across them again

You use a PC or similar to connect into your tivo, so you might be able to use a telnet program on your PC rather than putty which is suggested in the twiki link.

If it is easy for you to copy & paste 50-100 lines of text, then it would be good if you could show us the output of

So I'm not sure how we can move forward on the 7flix issue without the tivoid for 7flix channel in Gippsland.

I had an issue with channel 7flix when using hdhomerun also it did not have guide info as well , however they fixed it.
I just used software to find some information of the channel on the hdhomerun tuner if it helps.

The TiVo doesn't (yet) as we need to find the ID number, hence what David has been asking for. Unfortunately I am on the fringe of receiving Mt Tassie and it *sometimes* comes up as I do have an antenna pointing to it. If I can try myself I will but it may take a bit. Usually humid conditions helps.

Correct it did before Hybrid shut their server. The problem is that we have had to reconstruct EVERYTHING by hand that their server did. We got no information from them on how it worked or the structure. Agreed it is not perfect but bit by bit it is improving :)

Is the station id for 7Flix attainable from the fetch? to use on the tivo perhaps (i'm guessing it's not as simple as that.)
And would changing to another type of aerial increase my chance of the guide data?
My Tivo is running great regardless of the guide glitch here and there.

The EPG comes via the internet so a different antenna will have no bearing.

The ID's are processed by the TiVo so we need it from that, unfortunately.

Please check whether 7flix is listed as a channel you receive:
Tivo > Messages & Settings > Settings > Channels > Channel List
scroll down to 7flix
if the 7flix box is not already ticked , then:
press select to put a tick in the box next to 7flix
back (left) twice to Settings
Settings > Network > Connect to TiVo Service
when connecting to tivo service finishes, telnet or ssh into your tivo and try running /hack/bin/station_debug.tcl again.

If it helps, you can run "/hack/bin/station_debug.tcl > /var/tmp/station_debug.txt" on the tivo and then use a ssh/scp based copy program like winscp (or I think pscp with putty) to copy /var/tmp/station_debug.txt from the tivo to your PC so you can look at it or upload it.
But for most people if you only do this occasionally, it's probably easier just to copy and paste. The "station_debug.txt" part can be any file name you want (for example /var/tmp/foo.bar would be fine).

If you still see "NO STATION" for 7flix, then wait a few hours and try again.

We look forward to getting the episode information. The guide data used by Hybrid could distinguish first-run from repeat, so it would be desirable to retain this capability. One of the criticisms of Fetch is that it can't distinguish First-run from Repeat.

The critical missing piece of information is the tivo id number assigned by Hybrid to the channel called 7flix in Gippsland. This was known on the Hybrid mothership (which we have no access to) and TiVos which received 7flix Gippsland guide data from Hybrid. The id number is used to link the guide data from the mothership with the channels available from the antenna.

I have two tivos, and one of them says "NO STATION" for "Channel:12, Name:ONE" and the other has "/Server/147060179". Yesterday I thought that changing the channels I receive tick box might make the difference to whether a tivo sees no station or has a server id number, but changing that has not helped. So now I think the correlation I was seeing was just because I had turned off the channel tick box for channels where I don't get guide data (or duplicate channels, or shopping channels). At the moment I don't know what makes the difference between a tivo knowing the tivo id number for a channel and saying no station.

We still have guide data at oztivo for Gippsland 7flix, which is currently using tivoid number 377512910. If we find out that tivos in/near Gippsland are using a different tivoid number for 7flix in Gippsland, then I change change the tivoid for S3-Gippsland-7flix at hd.oztivo.net, and then guide data for 7flix Gippsland should start working. If we can find someone with a tivo in/near Gippsland which has a /Server/... number listed for 7flix, then we can fix this.

That says your TiVo knows about Brisbane 7flix (340417743), so I would expect you to get guide info for channel 76 (7flix brisbane), but not for 66 (7flix gold coast). If so, that would help you with looking at the guide, but not with season passes and recording (unless you get reception for Brisbane 7flix too).

It would be good if you could paste a full output of /hack/bin/station_debug.tcl for Gold Coast. Even if I can't fix 7flix gold coast for you, I may be able to fix a channel which is getting guide data from a different region (which you may not notice).

Thanks for that output. I made some changes to Win and Win HD for Gold Coast. Let us know if you notice any difference (for better or worse).
I notice that for 9HD/9Gem/9Go/9Life you seem to have a Brisbane version and a Gold Coast version. Thanks to that output I can tell which is which, but I haven't made any changes for those channels as yet.

All my channels are tuned to Gold Coast only but I do have NBN which is Gold Coast. I have saved a search of Win and will do it again after guide update.

Well i have been trying for days with no success i'm afraid.
Still no Station information.
Guess i will have to wait until someone else comes up with the info.

The ideal would be to find someone with another TiVo in/near Gippsland and ask them to run station_debug.tcl.

But since we don't know if there is anyone else with a TiVo in/near Gippsland, I will try changing the tivoid that OzTiVo uses to send S3-Gipplsland-7flix guide data, in case we happen to get lucky and stumble across the right tivoid number.
My understanding is levidog gets no guide information at all for 7flix (just To Be Advised), but does get guide information for every other channel (except shopping and audio only). If that's not right, please let us know.
And if you start getting guide information on 7flix then obviously let us know about that! (I might try changing that tivoid number every few days, until I see levidog saying it worked or I give up.)
And if anyone else (especially in regional Vic/NSW) notices they suddenly start getting 7flix guide data and didn't before (or they stop getting it) then let us know that too!

Okay, I think you should have PRIME7 HD Traralgon (Gippsland) from tomorrow (Jan 23 after about 3am). After that, Connect to TiVo service (or wait up to 24 hours for it to happen automatically), then wait a few more hours for your tivo to index the guide data.
I think this should work, although I also thought PRIME7 HD Ballarat/Western Vic/Warrnambool should work.

Hello David, thank you for the excellent work that you are putting into the guide.

Darren currently has one of my TiVos from the Gippsland Mt. Tassie reception area.

It is used by my aged parents so I'm not 100% certain that the 7flix channel is listed but perhaps Darren can dump the list for you.

If it doesn't have 7flix there are two more TiVos in the pipeline and they do have the Gippsland channels up until late Dec 2017 when I turned them off.

Yes, if you are using Guided Setup anywhere in WA, then enter 6000 as the postcode.
I do want to re-organise oztivo in future so more postcodes can be used, but I haven't found much time recently to work on that.
