Hi all,

I noticed from yesterday that there was no guide data showing - all channels showing to be announced.

I have tried to manually run the guide date update and it always says its successful but still nothing there.

Anyone else have this?
:(

BTW, like the forum! - much easier!

I noticed as well as of Sunday morning (midnight) that my TiVo needed to make a daily call and that no Guide Data existed past Sunday morning probably around 1am. So I connected my PC to the TiVo and let it do it's thing. Got up in the morning and it was fine! I now have Guide data up until Friday.

The TiVo isn't by chance indexing is it?

Yeah thats what I thought, but it does not seem to have gotten any better...

Everything is listed as to be announced...

Is loadguide still an option?

I had a look at cd /var/hack/guide but I dont see the guide data that used to be there when I used to use the loadguide process...

Cheers,
Fot

OK, What version of OZTIVO image are you running

What data sources do yuo have setup i.e. cable, Digital, FTA etc etc

Where are you ??

There has been nothing else reported on the Oztivo mailing lists so this seems a little weird.

YOu can still duplicate the old manual method of loading slice files etc.

However it is just as easy to force another call from the Tivoweb menu

If you did want to load the slices manuallly you can do the following:-

# tivosh /var/hack/bin/dbload30.tcl output.PayTV.Aust.slice
# tivosh /var/hack/bin/dbload30.tcl output.Syd.FTA.slice
# tivosh /var/hack/bin/fixup30.tcl
# touch /var/timestamp
# reboot

just cable - get FTA channels thru optus retransmit

Located Melbourne

I noticed it thinks that it doesn't need to update till Friday April 9th when I
goto "call and Updates" thru Tivoweb.

OK more which of the OZTIVO images was it that you downloaded and installed ?? 1.2, 1.3 ??

OK I am on Optus Cable also
I am in Sydney

Yes that is as should be - Warren has what is known as a no-nag channel - this has additional "fake" TV data in it so that the TIVO does not Nag that it has less than 14 days data

I take it that you are looking in Live TV and then pressing the Guide button ??

Have you tried browsing by Time or CHannel and seeing what is in there ??

Due to the new method that Warren is using to create slices there are some discrepancies from what we used to expect (e.g. Movies are not classified as movies at the moment !!)

Hi Craig,

Its the first cut that was released of the emulator i.e. release 1

> Have you tried browsing by Time or CHannel and seeing what is in there ??
Yes just tried no channel shows up when trying to go by channel. When going by time only the no-nag stuff comes up - nothing else is listed.

There really is nothing showing up at all - everything is just listed as to be announced.

I am currently going thru the old manual method - will let you know what happens

I am using the 1.1 image same as you so i can not see anything wrong here.

I think you must have had a problem with the data that was pulled down.

I would delete the slice files manually from the Telnet prompt and then either do a manual download etc or try and force another call.

:D
Ok, after going thru the manual process
i.e.

- downloaded the PAT TV and FTA slices
http://minnie.tuhs.org/TiVo/files/slices/output.PayTV.Aust.slice
http://minnie.tuhs.org/TiVo/files/slices/output.Melb.FTA.slice
- ftp'd them to tivo /var/hack/guide
- then loaded the slices
> cd /var/hack/guide;
> tivosh /var/hack/bin/dbload30.tcl output.PayTV.Aust.slice
> tivosh /var/hack/bin/dbload30.tcl output.Melb.FTA.slice
> cd /hack/bin
> tivosh fixup30.tcl
> tivosh force_index30.tcl
> touch /var/timestamp

all is fine again and there is calm in our household :o :)

Thanks for all the advice...
