Upgraded both of my S1 Tivo's to 1.6.2 a few weeks back. All has been well until last weekend.

The update facility within the image worked fine on the weekend but since then, I am experiencing issues with being able to:

1. Update the software further via the "update_oztivo" command via Hyperterminal (Both TiVo's). I receive the following message:

"[TiVo [p0] ~]# update_oztivo -y
File system is now READ/WRITE.
Fetching new files from the oztivo Emulator, details shown below:
rsync -rvltpD 131.244.9.101::oztivo_1.6 . --exclude-from=/etc/update_exclude
rsync: failed to connect to 131.244.9.101: Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at /usr/src/tivo/rsync-2.6.7/clientser
ver.c(107) [receiver]
File system is now READ ONLY.";
2. Connect to 1 Tivo via TivoWebPlus or FTP. I can connect via Hyperterminal OK but not either of these methods.
3. The Trickey software on the Tivo that won't respond to FTP or TivoWebPlus is also not working now

Any thoughts?

Dave

Coule be a problem with the server - see http://minnie.tuhs.org/pipermail/oztivo/2007-December/032345.html

Is it working for you now?

Peter.

Peter,

Must have been a server problem as it has started working again.

There must be other Server problems as the Guide seems to be down yet it was working fine on Friday night

Do you mean http://minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/tvguide.pl?

It's working fine for me, and I'm not aware of any outages.

Peter.

Could server issues be affecting me as well? I haven't touched a thing in months but now it won't complete any daily calls or forced daily calls. very weird ey.

Quite possibly your ISP has introduced a proxy server.

If you are with TPG then they recently did this and there has been recent (within 48 hours) correspondence on the oztivo website email digest about it, or you may have some luck doing a search here on the forums for "proxy server".
